Searching Footage
Finding what you are looking for is fast and easy with VIAAS. Our patented VIAAS IntelEvents™ capture video and a picture of what caused the video to be recorded. By looking at the pictures you decide whether you want to watch video. Searching your footage is really about finding the right snapshot, not watching hours of video.
VIAAS is based on a timeline concept. You look for footage in a time period. You start by deciding what timeframe to look at - for example "I think what I am looking for was last week" or "I need to watch people come in this morning". VIAAS makes it very fast to get to a specific time period and then scan footage to find the specific event you are looking for.
When you launch the application, you are in the "DashView" which shows a six hour timeline of what has been happening recently. The dashes on the timeline are events, the thicker line going from the playhead to the nearest dash indicates what image is displayed for each camera. Within the DashView, you can click to move the playhead or grab the top of it and drag it to scan through events. You can also use the arrow keys to move forward and backward one snapshot. Clicking the space bar slowly moves forward through your events. When you find what you are looking for, click on the video control to play the event.
At the left (and right if you are not at current time) of the DashView timeline is an arrow, which allows you to page back or forward six hours in time.
You can jump to any 6 hours period with the BarView, which slides up when you mouse to the bottom of the screen. The BarView shows you a month of activity in a bar chart (higher is more events in that period), and you can click to jump to a period in question. If you have more than a month of archive, you will see an arrow on the left of the BarView, click it to page back to the previous month.
If you are scanning a lot of events on one camera, the ThumbView is your tool. You get to it by clicking on the film reel icon at the bottom of the camera control, double clicking on the timeline, or clicking on the camera number at the left edge of the timeline. The ThumbView puts a bunch (limited by screen size) of snapshots on your screen to quickly review. You can change the size of the thumbnails with the zoom control at the bottom of the active area. You can scroll to the next or previous bunch by clicking on the timeline or grabbing and dragging the playhead. You may see a number of images highlighted at the same time - this indicates they are all from the same IntelEvent. Click on an image to play the video for the event. To get out of ThumbView, click the close icon in the upper right
